Exhibiting a different approach to heavy quality lighting with extensive use of solid castings, the Baronial range is available in varying finishes, providing fresh effects in the Medieval style. The single and multi-tier fittings are also available in larger sizes to special order. As with all Smithbrook Iron Lighting the Baronial Range is handmade by British Craftsmen and wired in accordance with European standards. Inspired by a nostalgia for Britain's mythical mediaeval past.
The Baronial style became the dominant architectural style in Scotland from the middle of the 19th Century and a vast number of country houses were built in this style, they looked like medieval castles of old with towers, crow-stepped gables and turrets. The Baronial range emulates the candlelight of the authentic middle ages offering hugh metalwork chandeliers with ecclesiastical, and tracery detail so typical of this period.
